Thursday, January 7, 2010 - 2:14 am

The home court proved to be a good place for the Shelby boys basketball team to turn things around.

The Huskies won the Shelby Holiday tournament, snapping a three-game losing streak in the process.

Shelby defeated Cedar Bluffs 50-28 for the championship Dec. 30.

That followed a 53-40 victory over Palmer in the first round.

Dylan Scow led the charge inside. The senior had 23 points and 16 rebounds to lead Shelby to the victory.

Jake Hopwood added 12 points for Shelby. Derek Swanson came close to a double-double with 10 points and nine rebounds.

Jeff Fox scored eight points to lead the Wildcats.

The first round matchup was a little tougher. The Huskies fell behind 13-12 after the first quarter.
