East Butler, Elkhorn Valley in Class D-1 finals

East Butler defeated Humphrey53-47 Friday at the Pershing Center to qualify for the Class D-1 Girls Basketball Championship game. The Tigers, now 22-3, will play Elkhorn Valley, which defeated top seeded Silver Lake 62-51 in the semi-finals. The D-1 Championship game is set for 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Bob Devaney Sports CenterEast Butler didn't let Howells get a second win against the Tigers in the opening round of the Class D-1 State Basketball Tournament on Thursday in Lincoln. The Tigers led at halftime and defeated the Bobcats 55-44 on Thursday morning at Lincoln North Star. Howells handed East Butler one its three losses earlier in the year.
Humphrey was a 49-46 winner in overtime over No. 7 Kenesaw.
Elkhorn Valley routed SMC 44-20 in the first round.
Silver Lake was a 59-30 winner over Brady.
Silver Lake and Humphrey will play in the consolation game is at noon Saturday at Lincoln High.
