Shelby girls 14th at Doane Invite

The Shelby girls track team placed 14th at the Doane Invite Thursday.The girls scored six points in the Class D division of the season-opening meet.
Prague won the team title with 76 points. Pawnee City was second with 51.5 points.
Freshman DeAnna Cyza placed fifth in the 200 meters with a time of 30.02 seconds and fifth in the 400 with a time of 1:07.5.
Freshman Maddie Scow placed fifth in the shot put with a throw of 29'10".
The Huskies were shorthanded, missing sophomore sprinter Lindsay Coffin at the meet.
Shelby returns to action next Tuesday at the Cedar Rapids Invite at Genoa.
